As we have seen progress in recent years, there are now more options available than ever before when it comes to the water heater. For many years, a tank would be required but now we are making use of the ‘tankless’ water heaters and this is what we will be discussing today.

As far as names go, there are perhaps none that are quite so self-explanatory as the tankless water heater. However, the principle may be a little tougher to grasp because you might be wondering where the hot water comes from. In good time, we will explain everything and help you to understand exactly how they work. Before we head any further, it is important to note that they can be used to provide hot water for the whole house; for some reason, there is a common misconception that they only heat certain faucets.

Your hot water is generally a centrally located unit that provides hot water throughout the home. A tank is used in many homes, but is usually not very energy efficient.

Tankless water heaters are a great, energy efficient option – because instead of heating up a whole tank of water, it heats up the hot water as you use it.

The only draw back is the intial cost of the tankless units. But if you can afford it, tankless is the way to go.
