Do you have a leak? That may seem like a silly question to many people. They may say “If I knew there was a leak, I would get fixed and then I wouldn’t have a leak!”. Then why is it so common to find leaks on home inspections?
We as people tend to not notice small adjustments in our surroundings. For instance, if you were to increase the temperature in a home by one degree every hour, would you notice at first? Most wouldn’t. We would likely start to notice when the temperature got uncomfortable.
That is the same principle with a leak. Leaks usually start small and we don’t notice them, but we usually notice them after they have been there for a while. So what can be done?
One thing is to have a yearly maintenance home inspection by a qualified home inspector such as myself. In this way, you can catch things like leaks before they get too bad.
