Should you buy a tankless water heater, or a traditional water heater tank? That is a question that a lot of people ask themselves when shopping for a water heater. So what is the right choice for you?

Consider a few things before buying a traditional water heater:

  • Do you live a busy life with people not home often?
  • Do you tend to use a lot of hot water at once – like in the morning when everyone is getting ready?
  • Do you spend more than $300 per year on your water heating bills?
  • Do you have natural gas or access to propane?

If you answered yes to any/all of those questions, then a tankless water heater would be a good choice for you. They are great – efficient, well functioning, and easy to monitor and use.

The one downside is cost. A tankless water heater can be 2-5 times more expensive than a traditional water heater. But if it fits your budget, then it will likely be a good choice for you!
