Not every homeowner is a do it yourself aficionado, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t still simple jobs they can do. If this is a category you fall under, it’s good to make sure you’re equipped for even the simplest tasks around the home. What tools then, should every home have? Here are a few ideas:
Even simple tasks require the right tools in order to do a good job. For example, hanging a picture. Think about the kind of tools you would need for this. A tape measure is an essential tool to have. A hammer is also an invaluable tool when it comes, not only to hanging pictures, but many different tasks around the home. A level is another valuable tool as it is the only way to truly determine if a picture or shelf etc. is straight.
What about a blocked sink or toilet? Very often this is something that can be fixed with a plunger, which is another tool to put on the list.
Other tools to have in your home tool kit would be:
Duct tape. This is excellent as it is very sticky and water resistant, and so can be used for temporary repairs.
A screw driver set, which would include both flat head and Philips head screw drivers in varied sizes.
A wrench set
A flash light is a very valuable tool to have in the home.
Safety goggles, gloves and breathing masks
While this is just a few of the many tools you will find helpful to use in the home, they are a good starting point, and will help you with the small, everyday DIY tasks around your home.
